Thai tea, also known as Thai iced tea or “Cha-yen” (in Thai) - strong brewed black tea with anise, various spices, sweetened with sugar and condensed or whole milk and cooled with ice.

Milk is added to tea just before drinking. In Thailand, this tea is served in a traditional tall glass, in the heat of this iced tea is very refreshing. Thai black tea is remarkably tasty and hot, with or without milk.

Cooking method:

Thai black iced tea:

• 2 tbsp. l Thai black tea, 2 tbsp. l condensed milk (or sugar 2 tbsp.), 2 tbsp. l concentrated milk without sugar or cream and 2 glasses of water.
• Put the tea in the kettle. Fill with boiling water, close, insist 5 minutes. Then gently strain the tea into cups.
• Add sweetened condensed milk or sugar. Cool the tea to room temperature or refrigerate in the fridge.
• While the tea is cooling, cool high glass goblets. Put crushed ice into glasses, pour tea. Top up with concentrated milk or cream and serve immediately with a straw. This is delicious!

Thai hot black tea:

• 3 teaspoons of dry Thai tea mixture pour 500 ml of boiling water.
• Infuse for 5 minutes, strain, add sugar or honey to taste.
